Motivational speaker featured during Success Week
Aaron Cross, a three-time Paralympian in the sport of archery, was a guest of the college during DCTC Fall Semester 2011 Success Week. As an elite cyclist in 1991, Cross was severely injured during a race and doctors told his family, “The best thing you can do for him is get him a good color television and a good remote.”
Cross has since dedicated his life to helping others achieve their dreams. His motivational approach is “Start now, Act now, Go After, and FOCUS on Your Target,” a five-step program about inner strength and believing in yourself so you can overcome life’s obstacles.
“Aaron inspired me,” she said. “I wasn’t sure I wanted to come to his talk today, but I found that I trusted him. His story made feel that no matter what is going on in my life, I should never feel like giving up.”
