Giving the Gift of Education

DCTC Foundation

In September, Tharan Leopold began his role as Executive Director of Foundation & Alumni for Dakota County Technical College.  Thanks to the efforts of numerous individuals, the DCTC Foundation was established in 1983 and exists today to provide scholarship and emergency grants to DCTC’s vast and diverse student population.

Did you know that during the 2010-11 academic year over 400 DCTC students received some form of scholarship aid or an emergency assistance from the foundation?  This number alone speaks volumes on the need of financial support to current students.  Thanks to the generosity of DCTC alumni, faculty and staff, board members, businesses and corporations, and friends of the College, these grants are made possible each year.

While it does vary by program, tuition and fees for a full-time student in classroom courses (classified as 30 credits per year) typically is $5,521.  Factor in additional expenses, such as textbooks, transportation costs, and unanticipated expenses and you can see why your support means so much to students attending DCTC.

Giving really does feel good and your support is invaluable!  We promise to be good stewards of your donation.
